A table of Launch Agency staffers, along with Park Place Marketing Director Rob Sumner, attended the Dallas Ad League’s 2010 Addy Awards, hoping to bring home plenty of trophies, just like we did in 2009. The Addy Awards recognize excellence in advertising across a variety of categories, and Launch proudly took home seven awards for our work over the past year.
Our first two wins of the night were for Park Place’s smart center Dallas/Fort Worth. The smart “Fit In Anywhere” TV spot took silver in the Local Television category, and the animated smart holiday email/screensaver took gold in the Interactive Media category.

In the category of Public Service, Launch cleaned up with five wins. The “Warning Signs” poster campaign for The Voice Foundation won four individual awards (a gold, two silvers and a bronze), along with a silver for the entire campaign.

Teaming former Dallas Cowboys great (and current Fox Sports broadcaster) Troy Aikman, with wild wrestling legend (and reality show star) Hulk Hogan, makes for interesting surprises in Launch’s new TV campaign for Rent-A-Center.
Shot by award-winning celebrity photographer and director Jay Silverman, the spots are currently in post-production at Charlie Uniform Tango in Dallas.
The Launch team was particularly impressed with how genuinely nice, down-to-Earth, and professional Troy and Hulk are. They were also amazed by the sheer size of both guys. To get an idea, check out how the Hulkster dwarfs Creative Director David Wilgus in the photo below.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County serves the county’s most vulnerable residents: abused and neglected children. They employ a multi-disciplinary approach that unites the efforts of therapists, law enforcement, legal and medical professional to ensure a higher conviction rate of offenders and less trauma for the children. The Center also provides resources to support their families, from fulfilling basic needs to supplying ongoing counseling to help them recover.
As a non-profit that relies on donors to provide these services, the CAC understands the power of a strong, recognizable brand. When it came time for a new logo and marketing strategy, they turned to their Plano-based neighbors at Launch Agency to develop a logo that better communicated the Center’s mission to provide safety, healing and justice. They also wanted a more professional mark to represent their highly trained specialists and the serious work they do.
Led by creative director Diane Seimetz and art director Reuben Miller, Launch’s logo solution successfully accomplishes both objectives – using a shield as a symbol of protection, integrated with a child inside striking a joyful pose. Reuben chose green because it signifies life, growth and rebirth.
Launch is proud to support such a worthwhile cause and hopes the new logo furthers their critically important mission. To learn more about the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, preventing child abuse and how you can help, please visit http://www.cacplano.org.
