Launch Agency Recognized with DFIWMA Interactive Marketing Awards
By: Alexandra | Published: 05/10/13

Launch Agency digital work garnered four awards at the Dallas-Fort Worth Interactive Marketing Association’s (DFWIMA) 2013 Excellence in Interactive Marketing Awards (EIMA). The award ceremony was May 9, 2013 at the Omni hotel in downtown Dallas.

Nature Nate’s Honey website was awarded 1st place for Most Effective Online Brand Awareness Campaign. Online Brand Awareness was judged by the look and feel of website creative as a reflection of the brand, including the site experience, overall design, usability, use of technology, etc. Nature Nate’s is a Texas-based premium honey distributor that provides raw, unfiltered, regional honey in major grocery retailers.

Promised Land Dairy’s rich media banner campaign was awarded 2nd place in both the Best of Show and Most Innovative Online Brand Creative categories. The Best of Show placement indicated the 2nd highest score of all entries, across all categories. The rich media banner campaign consisted of pre-expanding rich media ads created by Launch Agency, delivered on the Rocketfuel display platform via Pointroll. Each 4-week flight featured a video unit of a dairy farmer pulling a wheelbarrow of milk canisters across the computer screen. The farmer would fall, causing the milk to “spill” into an integrated 300×250 companion unit containing the farm-fresh ingredients specific to that quarter’s seasonal flavor of milk. The resulting ad unit highlighted one of Promised Land Dairy’s seasonal milk varieties, including Very Berry Strawberry, Mooberry Blueberry, Creamy Dreamy Orange, and Marvelous Mocha. Promised Land Dairy  is a Texas-based premium milk made only from Jersey cows, available in a variety of sizes and flavors at major retail grocery stores.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County’s (CACCC) Gala “Impact Moment video” was awarded 3rd place in the Most Effective Non-Profit/ Public Service Campaign category. The 2012 Impact video was a 90 second film which showed the severity of child abuse in Collin County through numerical facts and statistics, described the wide scope of services available and delivered a compelling call to action to support the mission of the CACCC. The video debuted at the 2012 annual fundraising Gala to an audience of more than 900 attendees, and has been used as a PSA piece. The CACCC’s mission is to bring safety, healing and justice to children victimized by abuse or neglect. They have provided free services to over 43,000 children to-date.

The DFWIMA‘s Excellence in Interactive Marketing awards banquet is an annual event recognizing DFW area leaders in the field. The 2013 winners demonstrated thought leadership, superior execution, outstanding metrics, and innovation in areas of online, interactive marketing from work completed in 2012. Entries were submitted entirely online (via custom webpages and entry forms) and judged by a distinguished panel comprised of representatives from academia and media. Entries were judged according to 1) creative (execution and functionality), 2) clarity of advertising message, 3) performance, and 4) overall experience.

Launch Agency receives Eagle Award from Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County

Each year, the CACCC honors the person or organization who’s had an extraordinary impact on the abused children of Collin County. This year, the Eagle Award was presented to Launch Agency for calling attention to the good work of the Center, an organization that operated under the radar for approximately 20 years.

Agency principal Diane Seimetz on the Eagle Award, “While we don’t donate our time and talents for recognition, it’s a great feeling to know you are making a difference when you do.”

Mike Newman of the Plano Profile on the CACCC: “Their mission is a simple, to-the-point one: ‘to provide safety, healing and justice to children victimized by abuse or neglect.’ The job of accomplishing it is anything but simple.”

Launch principals Seimetz, Michael Boone and David Wilgus are grateful for the honor. And express thanks to the talented team that worked so hard on behalf of the CACCC, including Alexandra Watson, Jon Fullrich, Laura Carroll, Ryan Ingram, Reuben Miller and Alison Hamilton.

Launch assists with, attends CAC Gala
By: Alison | Published: 05/27/11

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County recently held their biggest fundraiser of the year, Gala 2011, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. Themed “An Evening in Wine Country,” the event raised an astounding $1.1 million to aid in the fight against child abuse.

Immediately upon arrival to this incredible “must attend” formal engagement, Gala attendees were immersed into an amazing silent auction boasting everything from autographed movie memorabilia to hundreds of premium wines. Adding to the electricity was Tiffany & Co, offering goers a chance at winning breathtaking jewelry while longtime Launch client Park Place Dealerships sold raffle tickets for a chance to take home a brand-new Lexus IS C Convertible.

After nibbling on a variety of hors d’oeuvers while perusing and bidding on the vast array of auction items, the evening continued into the grand ballroom. Beautifully decorated, guests enjoyed flickering candlelight and amazing floral arrangements overflowing with sunflowers as they made their way to their tables.

As a three-course meal was served, a live auctioneer entertained guests, offering bidders a chance at many exclusive travel opportunities, experiences and one of a kind items. Included were trips to Napa Valley and the Caribbean, the chance to drive a NASCAR racecar and exquisite jewelry.

Two-time Grammy Award winner, Kenny Loggins, had the honor of closing out the evening. The artist rocked the stage, performing hit after hit, including “Footloose” and Top Gun’s “Danger Zone.” The brilliant singer-songwriter delivered a standout performance giving CACCC supporters the experience of a lifetime.

Launch Agency is proud to be a continuing sponsor of the CACCC and work in partnership with this incredible non-profit organization. We were honored to produce the event’s Impact Moment, a touching video that reminded attendees of the special benefactors of the evening – the children of Collin County. Special thanks to the all the people and partners who donated time and resources in producing the video: Reuben Miller, art director; Ryan Ingram, copywriter; Alison Hamilton, account service; Laura Carroll, producer; Jon Fullrich, video editor; Manny Rodriguez, videographer; Keith Burtwell, voice over; CUT, sound editor; as well as the children and families who volunteered as talent.

More trophies for Launch at 2011 District ADDY Awards
By: Alex | Published: 04/14/11

Launch’s 2011 winning streak continued with four awards at the Tenth District ADDY Awards, held Friday in Oklahoma City. The Tenth District of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) represents the affiliate advertising clubs and federations of the AAF in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

This time around, the Launch Agency trophy haul included a gold for its “Guillotine” poster, created for the 2011 Dallas ADDY Awards, as well as a silver for the overall “Suffer for Your Art” Dallas ADDYs poster campaign. Launch also took home two silver trophies for its Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County public service posters, titled “Bear” and “Robot.”

As a result of these wins, all four awarded pieces now move on to the National ADDY Awards as finalists. The winning work will be judged in San Diego and announced in early June. Here’s hoping the streak continues.

Launch Adds 10 New Dallas ADDY Trophies To Its Collection in 2011
By: Alex | Published: 02/25/11
The 2011 Dallas ADDY awards were held this past Thursday, February 17th, and once again, Launch came home with a sizable share of the awards. Launch was awarded 10 trophies in all, and in a strangely consistent fashion, all of them were silver.

In a true “meta” moment, four of the trophies were awarded for work Launch did in order to promote the ADDY event itself. Each of the three posters won individual trophies, as well as one for the campaign as a whole. Work from this campaign, dubbed “Suffer for Your Art,” adorned the event space, from posters at the entrance to on-screen display graphics at either side of the stage.

The “Suffer for Your Art” theme also continued throughout the night as part of a crowd-pleasing video Launch created with acclaimed director Jeff Bednarz and Directorz executive producer Jeremy Besser. The video featured Dallas advertising luminaries describing some of the bizarre and hilarious challenges they’ve faced in producing award-winning advertising. They were edited with the considerable talent of Charlie Uniform Tango (Lola Lott; executive producer, Jack Waldrip, editor; Alex Campos, assistant editor; and Dave Slack, graphic artist).

Launch also took home three awards for its Children’s Advocacy Center posters. Each of these public service concepts, dubbed “Bear” and “Robot”, took home a trophy each, and again, the overall campaign won a trophy as well.

Another pair of trophies was awarded to Launch for its work on smart USA sales promotion materials, including one for a smart sales kit and another for a series of smart product info sheets. And, finally, Launch won its tenth trophy of the night for a small-space ad produced for smart center Dallas & Fort Worth, titled “the half monty.”

All in all, it was just the latest in a string of successful Dallas ADDY shows for Launch. Here’s looking forward to a repeat performance in 2012.

Taking the Fight Against Abuse to the Big Screen
By: Richard | Published: 11/12/10

As part of our ongoing pro bono awareness campaign for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, Launch created a :30 video that is playing on the big screen at Studio Movie Grill in Plano.

The spot, “Little Hands”, speaks to the shocking number of children the Center treats each year, and the hope it gives them, through a playful animation of still images reminiscent of techniques used by Sesame Street.

This follows the campaign’s print ad which started running in October issues of Texas Monthly and Dallas Child.

The Launch team on the video included art director Reuben Miller, writer Kevin Byrd, animator/designer Jon Fullrich, creative directors David Wilgus and Diane Seimetz, and account exec Alison Hamilton. Music was provided by Pure Evil Music & Sound Design, and young hand model Kyle Byrd donated his time.

Check out the spot on CAC’s YouTube channel.

Battling Abuse Through Advertising
By: Alison | Published: 10/11/10

After developing a new brand identity earlier in the year for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, the creative team at Launch was thrilled to bring it to life in an emotionally engaging print ad. Fortunately, our non-profit client scored some low-cost media opportunities thanks to the Dallas Ad League’s charity media auction.

Launch was tasked with introducing the new brand look, soliciting donations, and building awareness for the Center’s mission – providing safety, healing and justice to abused and neglected children throughout Collin County, which covers many of Dallas’ northern suburbs.

Agency Partners and co-Creative Directors Diane Seimetz and David Wilgus created the print ad, which calls on one’s instinct to protect a child in danger and defines the team of specialists that make it happen at the Center. The full-page ad is running in the October issues of Texas Monthly and Dallas Child.

Special thanks to the friends of Launch who made it happen. Photographer Brian Braun and beautiful young model Sydney Coon graciously donated their services for the ad.

Using Our Talents For Good: The Benefits of Doing Pro Bono Work
By: Ashley | Published: 08/19/10

On August 10, Launch Agency principal/creative director Diane Seimetz, was a part of the 3-member panel at the monthly Dallas Ad League luncheon. The panel topic was on the benefits of doing pro bono work in the advertising industry. Other panelists included Elba Intriago from INSPIRE!, Brian Nadurak from Click Here, and Angelo Antoline from mundayMorning Creative, who was the panel moderator.

Diane presented some of the award-winning pro bono work Launch has done for very special clients such as The Voice Foundation, Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, The Rise School and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She also spoke about Launch’s involvement in the American Heart Association’s Dallas Heart Walk, which had special meaning to her and the whole Launch family.

A highlight of the luncheon was the inspirational stories that were shared by the panelists. After each member on the panel spoke about their agency’s own pro bono work and philosophy, they answered questions on the pros and cons of these assignments.

The panel stressed the importance of keeping the same agency processes with pro bono clients as done with paying clients. Making sure the charity’s mission aligns with your agency’s mission and values is also important before establishing a relationship. Agency bandwidth and resources are also huge factors. Using the agency’s clout and resources can be key in getting work produced for very little to no cost.

It was agreed that in every case, pro bono work should be your agency’s best work; something to be proud of that truly helps the cause!

Celebrating a Good Cause with Children’s Advocacy Center
By: Alison | Published: 04/30/10

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County held its annual fundraiser at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas, and Launchers Alison Hamilton, Reuben Miller, and Diane Seimetz were on hand. Reuben designed the Center’s new brand identity earlier this year, and along with Diane and Alison, helped create the on-stage presentation “Impact Moment,” which depicted the struggles of abused children, and the relief the Center provides.

The gala’s theme this year was “Rock On!” and that it did. The band, World Classic Rockers, was the featured entertainment, consisting of former members from Santana, Journey, Boston, Steppenwolf, Toto, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. In addition to the entertainment, both live and silent auctions were held with all proceeds going to the Children’s Advocacy Center.

The event was chaired by local philanthropist Carolyn Speese—wife of Advocacy Center Board President, and Rent-A-Center CEO, Mark Speese (a long-time Launch client). A key sponsor of the event was Launch client Park Place Lexus, which generously donated several Lexus vehicles to the raffle.

Visualizing a Solution for Abused Children
By: Alison | Published: 02/05/10

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County serves the county’s most vulnerable residents: abused and neglected children. They employ a multi-disciplinary approach that unites the efforts of therapists, law enforcement, legal and medical professional to ensure a higher conviction rate of offenders and less trauma for the children. The Center also provides resources to support their families, from fulfilling basic needs to supplying ongoing counseling to help them recover.

As a non-profit that relies on donors to provide these services, the CAC understands the power of a strong, recognizable brand. When it came time for a new logo and marketing strategy, they turned to their Plano-based neighbors at Launch Agency to develop a logo that better communicated the Center’s mission to provide safety, healing and justice. They also wanted a more professional mark to represent their highly trained specialists and the serious work they do.

Led by creative director Diane Seimetz and art director Reuben Miller, Launch’s logo solution successfully accomplishes both objectives – using a shield as a symbol of protection, integrated with a child inside striking a joyful pose. Reuben chose green because it signifies life, growth and rebirth.

Launch is proud to support such a worthwhile cause and hopes the new logo furthers their critically important mission. To learn more about the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, preventing child abuse and how you can help, please visit http://www.cacplano.org.
